Scroll through fonts

I am wondering if there is a way to scroll through the font list or tap the up and down arrow for selected text in order to view what the font will look like? I am trying to do it, but it doesn't seem to work.

Thanks in advance.

I think this would be a welcome enhancement for all selection (sub) lists in Resolve.

I would not only like that, I'd like for the font name to be in the specific typeface displayed. This can be done, though it takes time to build this list whenever your system fonts are changed.

Perhaps things will be different with Resolve 15 next week...

Good point, fingers crossed.

A big bump on this one, I'm currently having to scroll through my fonts using wordmark.it as doing it in Resolve is massively time consuming. Every time you want a new font you open the drop-down, select a font which closes the menu and then you have to open it back up and select another and so on. As the OP said, it would be a big help to be able to just have next / back buttons or just highlight the box and tap the down and up arrows.

Also, being able to type directly in the field to go filter straight to the font you need would be a huge help.

Cheers!

While I am sure we all have a font manager or similar that can display the various fonts, it just seems like a natural internal feature for something so highly specified as Resolve to be able to display each font typeface in the fonts list without resorting to an external package.

Just like to add to the wishlist chorus...

So many text editors do this as a default, it feels like an industry norm... so when you dropdown a list and its all in
Arial... ??????

However, some fonts aren't alphanumeric (Dingbats), and I do find that some of these previews are illegible. So... don't use that one! Right?

Or have an option to turn it on and off -- just a "Font Preview" checkbox would be fine.

I think the more one will write about that, the more we'll get closer to a kind of (legacy) Adobe Type Manager stuff request, you know, like "I make named folders and potential subfolders for fonts (western, handwritten, funny, ...)" that I can activate or not.
At least indeed, the typeface should be displayed.

Dang it. Years later and I still can't see a font preview or scroll through fonts with the arrow keys. I feel like Resolve is a shop that I visit every year but always come out empty-handed

My style of video requires numerous text boxes, so unfortunately this is a dealbreaker for me. Maybe next year!

This may be an answer:

It's a workaround, really. In Edit page Up/Down arrows do something else and unless we redefine the keys there is no quick up/down font change.
