Issue with program not opening, CUDA driver message...

So I have a Mac 2010 High Sierra 10.13.3 with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN X 12 GB card. Resolve prompts an action with: "DaVinci Resolve has not found the CUDA driver. Would you like to update the DaVinci Resolve GPU processing mode in Hardware Configuration" upon opening. Everything I have been reading here doesn't seem to offer a solution. Everything is up to date. Change the settings, save them and then when I start DR again, same message. It always just closes the program.

So confused....just need to get editing.

Please detail your Nvidia driver and Cuda driver versions.

You are using the Web driver for 10.13.4, but you said that you are using 10.13.3? Have you since updated to 10.13.4?

If you are on 10.13.4, with Web driver 387.10.10.10.30.106, and still not working, try using CUDA 8.0.90 and see if that helps.

If that still doesn't work, post your Resolve diagnostics log file to a file sharing site and post a link to it here. If you can't get to the Resolve Help menu to generate the file, then in Finder go to /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve and run CaptureLogs to generate the file.

Yep, this morning my computer let me know that it updated the HS OS without me authorizing it (Auto update not enabled). I have just tried to install 8.0.90 but every time I do that, the installation fails. I will keep plugging away.

8.0.90 installed. DaVinci Still just crashes after I update to CUDA; Auto. (Manual does not let me type or select any GPU) But as soon as changes are saved, I get the same prompt, with the same (lack of) results.

Seeing a Resolve diagnostics log would be helpful.

Not sure what you are attempting to show here.

If it's that you can't find the CaptureLogs app, in the Finder Go menu, select Go to Folder... and then enter /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve.

Then double click CaptureLogs.

There is no Blackmagic Design folder inside Application Support.

Yes, there is. You are not looking in the proper folder.

Likely you are looking in /Users/xxx/Library/Application Support, instead of the root /Library folder.

Or, you are using the Apple App Store version of Resolve. Is that the case?

I wouldn't think so, as it would not have let you select CUDA as a GPU option in Preferences.

Alright, I found the right folder. Now, for the file sharing, would a link to a google drive work? I am just trying to figure that out. Sorry, I am not swift when it comes to this stuff...

OK, please go into About This Mac, select System Report, and in the System Information menus at the top, select File - Save.

This should create a file with a .spx extension. Please provide a link to that file.

Tested here on a MacPro 5,1 with High Sierra 10.13.4 and a Titan-X card.

Web driver 387.10.10.10.30.106

This only works with the latest CUDA 387.178.

I see you had that loaded at one point, but I wonder if it was when you had the 10.13.3 web driver installed?

At any rate, try with CUDA 387.178 again. That works here on a nearly identical setup, so I don't see why it wouldn't work for you.

Updated the CUDA driver. Same message appears. Update Hardware Configuration, Save, program closes. Open it again, same message. I cannot get past this spot.

GPU Processing moder: CUDA
GPU Selection Mode: Auto? If I choose manual, there are no options to select.

Anything else I might try? I have burned a week up with no progress on my film....

Well, just because I was tired of hitting my head against the wall, I chose "Metal" instead of CUDA for GPU Processing mode. Next time I opened DaVinci, it actually took me to the new project screen. I am able to work in the program now. But would you happen to know if this GPU mode will lead me to other issues down the line?

Thank you for all your help with this

In macOS 10.13.4, Metal should be stable.

Baffling why CUDA is not working for you.
