USB Key care

Hi,
Could be an USB Key permanently connected to an always on system?
Or is it better to unplug the USB Key when not in use?

I would leave it in place. You could eventually damage a port if you connect and disconnect it often.

One thing I've done for freelance gigs is to carry a spare dongle and a short (2') USB cable, so I'm only plugging-and-unplugging the dongle from the cable, not from the computer itself. But for my two main systems, we leave the dongles in 24/7 and there's no problem.
