This seems to be a problem with thumbnails.

I am having a strange problem since upgrading to 14 recently. Basically, if I am bringing in a timeline with r3d footage, it takes a long time for me to start working on it. The files won't initially play back. If I wait (and I think let it draw thumbnails) then it starts moving normally (meaning really fast.)

Also, if I try and view clips in the color page, and try and show a specific group of clips within a timeline, it takes forever for me to see previews and doesn't play back well. Sometimes they never come in. Which makes it really hard to work. And it seems to freeze up a lot. Really frustrating.

And if I restart resolve, the thumbnails disappear, and it freezes a lot, and resolve takes a while until it is back to "normal".

BTW, I am attempting to play back at premium good. And I have a really fast machine.

Anybody else seeing this? Any workarounds?

So it definitely seems to be a problem with the thumbnail previews. Whether I am in the edit or the color page, it takes forever for the previews to come in, and it seems that resolve doesn't want to get up to speed until the clip thumbnails are re-created.

am I the only one? Still quite significant problems with red files. Slow previews, weird flashing corruptions that disappear when I restart. On 2 systems. Clean installs with v15.

I don't have slow previews or thumbs problems but I have some weird flashing banding corrupted frames while playing, the footage is 100% fine it's only during playback and it only happen sometimes.

V15 B2 on Ubuntu / 8700K + GTX1080Ti
