Timeline Zooming - Laggy

PostMon May 21, 2018 11:58 am

Hi there,

I have R15 beta 3. Both on Windows and Mac the timeline zooming in and out has been very very laggy! Anybody else having this?

Cheers

No, not seeing any lag with Win 10 here.

I guess it depends on what you're used to and how you use it (keyboard shortcut for "zoom all" vs scroll wheel to zoom with the mouse). I find it slow as well (Windows 10) using the scroll wheel when comparing to Premiere on Mac (which is faster than Premiere on Windows in this regard). FCPX GUI is exceptionally fast, but of course it can be extremely optimized since it doesn't have to use multiplatform frameworks.

I don't know if the Resolve timeline is drawn using the Qt framework, but if it is, I have a feeling Qt is a bit more optimized on macOS than on Windows when it comes to that type of objects/animation. Come to think of it, Resolve 12.5 Edit page GUI was horribly slow on Linux (just the GUI, not the processing).
