Adobe DNG Naming Problem during Proxy Creation Resolve 15

PostSat Jun 02, 2018 1:48 am

Hi all,
I have a problem I have found no solution for.

1. Atomos Inferno connected to a Sony FS700R records Adobe DNG files where each recording starts the DNGs being named FRM_000000 and is in a separate file folder named, for example, FRM_000000-0000345

2. When making proxies from Resolve Studio 15 each subsequent Raw file overwrites the prior raw proxy file because all raw files start with FRM_000000. i.e. a timeline with 10 raw files only produces one proxy mov after exporting using the deliver page.

(One way this problem could be solved is if Resolve allowed for more than 10 letters in the source name naming convention on the deliver page, but I don't know if there will ever be implemented)

Has anyone come up with a solution for this otherwise?

Thanks
RL

Rename the images in the folders to a different base name and number sequentially from there. Then you can make new proxies from there.

There are dozens of renaming utilities which can handle that quickly.
On the Mac I use A Better Finder Renamer, there is something with similar functionality for Windows.
No, an iGPU is not enough, and you can't use HEVC 10 bit 4:2:2 in the free version.

On Windows, Total Commander is a great file manager that includes a multi rename tool.
