Troubleshooting: marker, timeline and smart bins

Hello - I have a season's worth of sport footage in one timeline.

Key moments are noted with timeline markers containing player names.

I can search these markers in the Edit Index, but I can't create Smart Bins using the player names -- because the markers are on the Timeline, not the actual clips.

Can I:

- Transfer the timeline markers to the source clips? (So I could then use a Smart bin.)
- Create a Smart Bin using timeline marker info? (Assuming this is a no.)
- Follow any other steps to be able to use Smart Bins with the existing notes I've made?

I realize this is a pretty elementary error I've made, any help much appreciated.

How many markers do you have on the timeline?

I have close to 500 markers distributed over 8 hours of footage.

I see the error of my ways now -- and I can still do rudimentary sorting to find content I want to highlight using the edit index in the timeline.

I was just hoping to make Smart Bins for each player so I can easily jump around.

Learning as I go!

Update: If anyone can confirm I'm completely outta luck, please do!

I'm about to start "cutting out" the clips I need.
