can no longer add media to the timeline

I've been working on a project for days. After three minutes of material and everything going smoothly, I can no longer add any type of media on the time line, even though it is accepted and sitting in the media pool. At first I thought it was just audio; I would drop it in and it would simply disappear. So I went to fairlight, dropped it in there and it worked. I went back to the time line and the audio i just dropped in was there, but it was locked in place and could NOT be moved anywhere on the timeline. So I decided to try with other media: pictures, video, audio and nothing will stick after a certain part in the timeline. i even tried the same media I already have placed in the beginning of the project and nothing will stick.

I searched but couldn't find anyone else with the same problem...-_-

I've not seen this, please review

I've just seen your other post.. if you are still on the HP EliteBook 8470p then as advised, its not ideal for Resolve so without more info, inc clip res and type, we can only assume its due to your hardware.

Yes, I am still on the same laptop.
I just started a new project and just threw a bunch of media into it up to an hour long. had no problem with it. this is the not the first time i had this problem. When I first started with DR, I had a point where I could not add beyond 15 seconds. I had to delete and then start over. I thought it was a fluke but maybe not.

I am on 15.0.0B.46

here is video of me going through the problem. You'll see at the end, I found something new: I can audio, as long as it is on a different track.

i also have a crash log if you need it, but DR hasn't crashed on me in regards to this issue. Also, I save the project as another file name and opened it up hoping it would be fixed, but it still had the same issue.

The reason you can't add clips to your edit is because you have the tracks locked (the padlock icon in the track headers). Unlock and all will be well.

Oh god I wish all “problems” were so easy to fix.

I have the same issue but the position lock is not the cause. Running Studio v16 beta. File is 3minutes and 40seconds long and now I can not add any more media to the timeline.
