Outlining Plots of Land

PostSun Jun 24, 2018 11:30 am

Hi

I currently do aerial surveys of land for sale and have been grabbing stills and the exporting to Photoshop to draw a red boundary line on the still and then bringing the still back into Resolve 15.

I have tried using a mask within Resolve 15 but need to keep the mask clear and only have an outline. So far I can only see that I can colour the mask.

Is is possible within Resolve 15 to edge a plot of land and then have the red boundary line track whilst the video runs?

All help gratefully received.

Kind regards

Michael

I think Fusion is what you need here. It's no small learning curve.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Sorry I don't have time to be more detailed, but a layer node is what you need.

1. Create your power window and track it.
2. Make it red.
3. In the power window tab, click the '...' button and 'Copy Window' AND 'Copy Tracking Data'
4. Right click on the node and add a Layer Node
5. In the new node (not the layer mixer), add a new power window
6. In the '...' menu of the power window, Paste Window and Paste Tracking Data
7. Left click and drag your mouse over the power window's size field and decrease it a bit. This controls the border width of the outline.
