Scene cut detection vs Exported EDL

PostThu Jul 12, 2018 10:00 am

Hi,

I'm using 14.3 on Linux. I have large project with multiple timelines and many extraneous TB of files in various bins. I've rendered out a "final" version of it to some new storage, with the intention of creating a new, clean project with only the final video/audio inside, and so I can remove all of the source. I'm unable to find the original EDL that was used to create the main timeline. So, apologies for my noob question. What's the best way to reproduce all the original cut points in the timeline? I thought I could use scene cut detection in conjunction with a freshly exported EDL from the old project, but every time I try importing the EDL in SCD, it says "no cut points found". Is this function very TC sensitive? As in, my rendered frames start at TC 0, but the original timeline is starts at 10 hours. Again, sorry for the noob question. Thanks

The imported video and edl timecode must be identical.
