Best way to match timing of two clips?

PostFri Aug 17, 2018 9:50 am

Hi,

I'm a Fusion user trying to learn some simple Resolve editing.

What I want to achieve is simple timing match of two clips.
For example I have reference clip (mp4) on Track 1 and now I want to match timing of prores clip on Track 2 accordingly.

In Fusion it is very easy to do. Simply viewing clip 1 in view 1 and clip 2 in view 2 and sliding upper clip inside Fusion timeline editor.

Resolve has also 2 viewers, but is there any chance to see Track 1 on left view and Track 2 in right view? I haven't found any good alternative to that method.

I would hugely appreciate if more experienced user could guide me through this simple issue.

Thanks!

I’ve done it by using the opacity or crop and scale sliders in the top clip’s inspector.

Hi,

- You create a TL1 with your clip 1 => go EDIT TAB
- You put your clip 2 in the source viewer
- You position the playhead in the source viewer
- You position the playhead in the TL viewer or TL
- on the top right you have 3 small dots: you click on it and you choose "Gang viewer"

Only the TL's plyhead works but the playhead of the source viewer is synchronized.

Another solution is to use the COMPARE function of TL
- a TL in the source viewer
- another TL in the TL viewer
:)
