Timecode and Render Cache

PostFri Aug 17, 2018 11:33 pm

I'm on a project in 14.3.0.014 where the timecode burn in on footage is needed sometimes and not needed other times. I'm using Smart Cache and when I switch the timecode off and on it kills the render cache. I can understand why this happens, but I'm working on an OLED and I don't want REC and a box to burn into the screen if I have it on when I don't need it to preserve the cache.

I'm wondering: is there a way to work where it won't kill my cache when I turn timecode on and off?

I've also noticed that when on the edit page after color is done and patches are coming in sometimes the render cache seems to go away for large sections inexplicably. Not sure why.
