Hi there,
I am using Danvinci Studio on following maschine:
i7 5820k (6 cores)
32 gb ram
ssd for Windows + ssd for files
2 x 1080 ti (those are not in SLI)
So no slouch for editing maschine.
Wenn I edit and colorgrade 4k 30 frames from sony in H264, all fine. Except of course by speeding up, but i can live with that.
As soon as i start to work with Phantom 4 pro files (4096x2160, 60 fps H264 mov), it gets very choppy and luggy and and... I tried many things: changed the playback of timeline in 24, 29,97, 60, - no help. Taking down resolution helps a bit, but still pretty unresponsive. Then I wanted to transcode file within Davinci - first it uses only 15-20 CPU. But however, at some point it just stops and nothing is transcoded (I am talking about optimized media)
A day before I edited a video in Full HD with 60 frames, (also H264) it worked like a charm. Optical Flow for example was instant, and I am talking about taking down speed to 2% (yes, a crazy slow motion), puting couple of nodes in color page - all running smoothly by full resolution. Here the link to video: https://stanko-b.com/familie_von_jarzeb ... pril_2018/ So what do you think guys? My guess is Davinci just cant (yet) handle natively 4k 60fps H264 files. Or do you know some nasty trick to get those files running in realtime?
I am very thankfull for feedback.
Cheers
Stanko
