Convert timeline clip to subclip?

PostSat Sep 08, 2018 4:16 pm

Could anyone help me please?
Is there anyway to create subclips from timeline clips?
The way I like to work is by adding my unedited clips into the timeline, then I zip through and trim and crop them. However, I would then like to create subclips from my timeline edits, so that when I generate optimised media, it has a smaller footprint on my drives.
I know I can do this type of logging in the media pool, but sometimes I just like to start editing and see how clips look together on the timeline.

It looks to me like there is no way to convert a timeline clip to subclip.
Maybe I am doing something wrong, or have not spotted a way to do it.

Any help would be appreciated.

We would need it too. Would be really helpful to have it under right click menu.
