How to export audio w/ 1 track per channel for 5.1 & Stereo

I'm trying to export a Quicktime ProRes file with the audio as one track per channel. I need to deliver the audio as:

Track 1 = 5.1 L
Track 2 = 5.1 R
Track 3 = 5.1 C
Track 4 = 5.1 LFE
Track 5 = 5.1 Ls
Track 6 = 5.1 Rs
Track 7 = Stereo L
Track 8 = Stereo R
Track 9 = 5.1 M&E L
Track 10 = 5.1 M&E R
Track 11 = 5.1 M&E C
Track 12 = 5.1 M&E LFE
Track 13 = 5.1 M&E Ls
Track 14 = 5.1 M&E Rs
Track 15 = Stereo M&E L
Track 16 = Stereo M&E R

When I export in the Deliver page with the option for one track per channel I still get a 5.1 track, stereo track, 5.1 track, and stereo track. How do we get a true discrete track per channel? I can do it easily in Premiere Pro, but don't see a way to do it in Resolve.

Place on the TL the 2 tracks 5.1 (sound and M&E) in individual tracks = 12 channels
2 x L/R/C/LFE/Ls/Rs

Then: Fairlight => Bus Format => create Sub as desired in output

Then: Fairlight Tab: Assign the individual channels to the output Sub

Jean Claude, thank you. I had done all that, and when I exported, the 5.1 audio still showed as a single 5.1 track instead of 6 separate discrete tracks. That was last week before 15.1 came out. I just tried it again and it worked. The tracks say mono though. I guess that is fine, but when I do it in Premiere they are "discrete".

However, how do we export separate WAV files for each channel? I don't see any way to do that.

When I tested it yesterday I only did a 5.1 bus output with the Quicktime. If I output with a 5.1 bus, Stereo 2.0 bus, and Stereo M&E 2.0 bus, I get a 5.1 stream and 2 stereo streams instead of 10 audio tracks. So when I import the resulting ProRes file into say Premiere Pro, I get a 5.1 track and 2 stereo tracks instead of 10 separate audio tracks (1 for each channel). This happens even though the option is checked off (it actually goes to grayed out when you add a second track).

if your timeline tracks are interleaved then i'm not sure what you can do beyond exporting as such, bring that in as one file and split it out to multi mono in Clip Attributes, then render out as individual clips with same as source audio.

If your timeline tracks are all mono then you can select 'Timeline track' in the deliver page and add as many as you need.

They may be a better option, I'm not sure. As soon as you add multiple audio outputs on the Deliver page you lose the option to export as one track per channel though.

Sounds like something to request BMD to change. It would be great if we could select a channel from the main bus to put on each track. Otherwise it's more than double the work to get that type of file that we might need to deliverables.

Yes, I WAV is not the issue. I know it works with that. The issue is with Quicktime files. That was the original question.

(Workaround)
You can always try to deliver the 16 tracks by naming them one by one from 1 to 16
(test done after reimporting the wav with the 16 audio channels and placing them on the TL under the video)

(I'm on PC: no prores ... )

Unfortunately that wouldn’t work. I’m dealing with a 50 track project and a 5.1 mix with various panning. Need to be able to output the 5.1, Stereo, and Stereo M&E main and sub buses to separate tracks per channel in the QuickTime. This is very basic and the software should be capable of doing it. I understand the workaround is to render out the mixes, then import back into Resolve and separate the channels onto separate tracks in another timeline and output that way, but it creates a lot of extra work and wastes a lot of time.
