Resolve 15 No Audio Monitoring

PostFri Sep 21, 2018 4:07 pm

Resolve 15.1.0.025, Win 7 Pro x64.

I can import an mp3, when playing the meters are active but no sound. I went ahead and rendered the project and the audio plays. Why can't I hear it when editing? Set to "use system setting"

thx for any help!

Try going into Preferences, then choose Video and Audio I/O, and look at your Speaker settings. Instead of "use system settings," try "manual" and then under "device" choose whatever you are using to listen to your audio.

That works for me, anyway.

Tried that and no sound and then the meters are not active; switch back to use system and meters active but still no audio.

thx

I'm starting to wonder if Windows 7 is at least part of your problem here. I'm pretty sure Resolve 15 requires Windows 10; see the configuration guide at https://documents.blackmagicdesign.com/ ... _Guide.pdf

Although also see viewtopic.php?f=21&t=72136

Maybe but the rendered video has the audio so it's a monitoring issue.

Right. Here's how my Audio I/O prefs are set; make sure yours look identical (with the exception of the device name of course; I'm using a USB interface for audio in and out). You'll have to scroll down the image using the scroll bar at right to see all of it.

And one other strategy: shut down Resolve and then do this:

Go to your Sound control panel and make sure whatever you're using to listen to your recording has the green checkmark next to it, indicating that it's the default device. Then restart Resolve, and now go back to the preferences, audio input/output, and choose "use system setting."

If that doesn't work and you're still hearing the music in the rendered audio, it might have to do with the fact that you're using Resolve 15 on a Windows 7 machine.

Did all the above, no change. Strange to see the audio meters bouncing around but no sound.

Finally figured it out. My Tascam USB audio interface properties had to be at 48khz, not 44 khz :)
