Particle playback skipping in edit timeline

PostThu Oct 18, 2018 6:16 pm

I'm running into issues (just started using Resolve) when playing back scenes with particles.

My hardware specs are:

CPU: i7-7700k OC @ 4.7GHz
GPU: 1080Ti 11GB
16GB of RAM (DDR4-3000)
Disks are 1 NVMe for the OS (where Resolve is installed and where it caches stuff), one 'normal' SSD for edition (rendering output) and a 7200 rpm drive for my source media
Windows 10 x64 pro

The following shows particles shuffling around when just hitting the right arrow to manually navigate the timeline: https://gfycat.com/SlimyContentHalcyon

The following shows bad rendering when hitting space (automatic playback): https://gfycat.com/DifficultFlakyCarp

The following shows somewhat proper (apart from the particles shuffling around) playback when drag and dropping the mouse on the playback cursor: https://gfycat.com/MassiveBriskCaecilian

I feel like my RAM is lacking but that may not be the only issue.

This project is solely an image (the star) with a fusion clip (pEmitter and pRender).

Any thoughts?

I forgot to mention that this is with the latest Resolve (15.1.2 I believe).

This does not happen in Fusion 9... so I'll edit particles and what not in 9 until this is fixed (either from my end or BlackMagic's).

Here are two different particle systems that show the issue at hand.

The top (red) one is created and rendered in Resolve 15.1.2
The bottom (blue) one is created and rendered in Fusion 9

No idea what is causing this, I'd really love to solve this issue.
Is there anything more I can provide to help pinpoint the problem?
Thanks!
