BUG REPORT: 15.1 deliver renders no audio in Ubuntu 18.04

PostFri Oct 19, 2018 8:45 pm

Please see viewtopic.php?f=21&t=79826 for more information. The past 3 updates have not provided a fix, so time to escalate I think ...

Still not fixed in 15.1.2, 15.0.1-1 is the last working version.

Dear All,

Just before the holidays (during which lots of editing will take place no doubt) I discovered that a NEW project does create a usable, i.e. WITH sound, mov.

However, 15.2.2-1 is still UNABLE to create sound from projects that were created with e.g. 15.0.1.

Still, it's safe enough to switch now. I'm just keeping an older version around should previous projects require further work.

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year folks!

You shouldn't be getting that problem on Ubuntu. Some things changed in Delivery lately though, can't remember which version. You need to make sure that it's set to Single Clip, Export Audio, 'Render one track per channel' unchecked and 'Output Track 1' set to 'Main 1(Stereo' in the Audio section of Delivery. That works for me.

Even when you're picking up an "older" project? Sadly, still no luck after trying those settings (only the 1track/channel was different) ...

WORKAROUND!!

It seems that every update of DR results in the render process not producing correct sound for projects that already exist (i.e. were created in previous versions). If you re-render in the latest version then play the resulting video, it will be mute or, in the case of the standard Ubuntu player, it starts with mute activated and it can't be unmuted. In any case there's no sound

However, I discovered by chance that there IS audio in the MOV file that DR produces, but only some software is able to process it. In my case I found that KDENLIVE will correct it. So I simply import DR's MOV and re-render it in KDENLIVE and the sound's back!!!
