crash using Fusion text titles - v15.2.0.033

PostWed Nov 14, 2018 10:17 pm

I want to say thank you to the BlackMagic team for putting out v15.2.0.033, it resolved my issue with crashing at startup on my AMD Phenom II CPU. :)

However, I am running into another crashing issue as follows:
Start a new Project and go under Effects Library -> Toolbox -> Titles. Add any Fusion text title to the project, and then click play to preview it. This happens whether there is a clip in the timeline or not.

Please find logs attached. Thank you for looking into this.

Can you add 32GB ram to the system as 8 is not enough for using the Fusion text+

I have the same issue here on 16gb system.
It's a very basic scenario, just fusion text+ added, play and you get CTD
Also there is no RAM usage increase before crash happens, so there must be something else.
Only Phenom users (CPU without SSE4 extensions) are experiencing this on windows (unless someone can confirm otherwise)

I had the same issue on a 12gb system. But at the time of each crash usage was never higher than 14 percent.

Regardless, I was able to (so far) stop it from happening by going into project settings --> Master Settings and unchecking "Automatically cache Fusion Effects in User Mode"

I changed a few things in the "Optimized Media and Render Cache" section, but I think that's the change that made the difference.

It's still early for me with the program, and I'm anything but a heavy user, but so far that's been my only issue.

That worked for me!
Are you using Phenom CPU also?
Is animated text running slow for you?
Thanks!

Thanks for this, it resolved for me as well. :)

Boris: I also have a general slowness issue when previewing the various effects, but it's variable, once playing it through once or twice it seems to be faster on subsequent playback, but will still tends to drop frames a lot. I watch task manager and the GPU is using 7% while the CPU about 47% (on my 6 core) during playback (in OpenCL mode). With CUDA mode the GPU goes up slightly 10-20% and CPU down to more like 30%, so it's not really using the full capabilities of my system.

Whoo! After 2 days of searching, this worked for me too. I also did a fresh install of Resolve (uninstall it first)
