Slide Show Creation with photos

PostSun Dec 09, 2018 7:05 pm

Sometimes when I create a video with photos, Resolve(15.1.2) will add extra frames of other photos in between some of the photos. I have to go to the Timeline and remove the extra frames of other photos.

Somehow you must have put them there, Resolve is not just going to add other photos by itself.

I would agree with Cary. If you're finding actual clips on the timeline, someone put them there.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Do you tick: Show Individual Frames in the Media page ?

I discovered the problem. Some of the photos were shot by a professional photographer. That is where the extra frames come from. I have some photos that were not shot professionally. Davinci Resolve imports them without any extra frames. When I load the same professional photos into Adobe Premiere 2019, there are no extra frames.

I am glad you solved the problem, but honestly, I have no clue as to what you are talking about. :)

I solved the problem by creating an XML file in Adobe Premiere. Davinci Resolve imports the file without any problem.

If they come from a pro, there are maybe a JPEG and a RAW for each photo.
Plus, if you didn't activate "show individual frames", Resolve will look for consecutive numbers and pull those stills in if it finds any.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

You are probably right. I have other photos that were not shot by professional photographers. There is no problem when I import them. The latest version of Resolve does not have the feature "Show Individual Frames."

You have to go to the media tab, then go to the folders you have your photos (before you add them to the media pool) and select the 3 dots up top. You will see Show Individual Frames. It is different than how it used to be. I HIGHLY recommend Davinci changes this. It is convoluted and not intuitive. You cant even Show Individual Frames when you are in the media pool. At least not how I saw it.
