Crashes very early into each session

I'm a new user, who is looking for new editing software, and a colleague recommended Resolve. I installed it today, but as soon as I start doing anything with a video clip the program crashes. Sometimes I can get a couple seconds to play in the source monitor or it may allow me to manipulate video in the timeline for a minute before it crashes. I'm looking forward to playing with the software and would appreciate any help you can give!

12 GB RAM (10.9 usable)

I updated my graphics driver to version 21.19.128.4 and am now able to perform basic editing.

Unfortunately Resolve is now crashing when I use the effects node editor.

Your GPU has not enough VRAM. Sorry.

That's what I was afraid of. Thank you! Hopefully I'll upgrade my graphics soon, and get to try Resolve, it looks like great software!
