Hello everyone. I am a new user of Resolve. Although i love Resolve's interface and it's simplicity I struggle with some multicam issues.
I try very hard to synchronize some clips from 2 angles from a wedding into a multicam (trying to synchronize with sound) but Resolve does not synchronize them. Just to say that both cameras use a microphone on camera and the sound they captured is not clipped. As I said the clips are from 2 dslrs but Resolve in the final multicam file, creates about 12 different angles (12 are the clips as well). The synchronisation is far away from accurate and there are moments where it has created 6 angles.
If i synchronize with plural eyes let's say, it is a piece of cake to put them in perfect sync and in Premiere i make them easily a nest for multicam (something that I cannot do in Resolve).
Could you help me? Am I doing something wrong or just Resolve is not so good in synchronising various multicam clips?
1/ Use PE, export xml, import xml in Resolve 2/ create ANY fake multicam with any clips in Resolve > open in timeline > wipe the clips out of the tracks > let the multicam clip open in its TL 3/ copy every clips from the imported xml as they are (stacked in the open tl) > paste in the empty open multicam > close it Et voilà...

You actually can make a multicam nest. That's what I use 95% of the time. Create any random multicam clip, then right-click it and choose "open in timeline". It'll open exactly like a nested timeline does, and you can then add the clips manually. Syncing also has to be done manually, but if it's not too many clips, this usually isn't so time consuming. If the audio waveform is hard to match up, I try to find a visual cue, such as a certain person moving or touching something else.

Thank you Yisrael for your answer.. That seems correct. However to be honest that would be very time consuming to do for about 200 clips. While Plural Eyes can make it in just a few minutes with very very good result.
I read in the forums reviews from users that Resolve has a very good sync ability for multicam but I personally didn't find that out yet. I hope they will improve it's multicam and sync ability and options.
What stands as solution to the problem is the answer of Sam Steti above
I have tried using PluralEyes but the files are not in sync when I import into Resolve. It does work when I import into another NLE (Edius). Any idea why?
