Resolve Studio license and purchase info

I have bought a lot of software over the years, but attempting to purchase Resolve Studio has me flummoxed.

First off, am I right that I would download Studio from BMD's site, but I can't actually buy the license from BMD, but must instead go to a vendor, for a physical dongle, or a physical "activation card"?

... And that the dongle scheme is being discontinued? So I should get a card?

Does this card require a reader? Or does it just a piece of plastic with a code written on it that I type in at some point?

But more substantially, where can the license agreement be viewed? I need to know what this $299 buys. Is it a license that enables the software indefinitely, or is it only for some period? Does it include updates? For how long? Is the license per user? Or per machine? Is the license transferable?

Thanks in advance for answers to these mysteries.

I´m looking for this answers too but I cannot find it directly on the website of Blackmagicdesign. Can somebody give us a link to an official page?
Thanks.

I've no inside information from BMD, but B&H in NY still sells the dongle.

The card comes with a printed code that you enter.

FYI - It might be more useful to purchase the Fusion Studio dongle because then you can run the stand-alone Fusion Studio and Resolve Studio from the same dongle. If you purchase the Resolve Studio dongle you will not be able to run the standalone Fusion Studio.

If you only use the Fusion page in Resolve and have no desire to link with VFX connect to the external Fusion Studio, ignore this advice.

The license conditions are shown in the install process which you can run without a license.
Studio licenses are perpetually for a single person to use, have had free updates for many years but no formal comment about the ongoing update status. I doubt we will change it any time soon.

The license is freely transferable but be aware there have been some pirated dongle sold on the open market that won’t work on new versions of Resolve.

I recommend purchasing from an authorized BMD reseller.
