3d Text texturing

Hello i meet the problem with texturing of text.

i have some ways to use textures n 3d text

1) using replace material and cooktorrance +uv map. Result i have nice front texure if use cubemap in UVmap node. but have very bad inside textures expeccially in round charratcerts like O,P, C.

2) using replace material and cooktorrance +uv map. Result i have nice inside texure if use shpere in UVmap node. but have very bad FRONT texture.

3) using same way without UVmap = bad INSIDE textures

4) using in 3dtext image mapping. but the same i have bad inside or front textures depending of UVmap paramentres. and i cant use bumpmaping because use textures to 3dtext node.

question how can i apply my cooktorrance node with bumpmap and textures to every single character and this textures will be fine inside and front?

I have the same question. Any help on texturing in Fusion would be great. There don't seem to be any resources out there...

That is an interesting question. I played around with this for 2 hours now. I can not get a mapping where the sides of the text get correct uv coordinates.

I tend to use Title Studio from Boris FX because of that…

Can you please define what 'correct' mapping would be?
It is possible to have seperate materials for the front textures and the side textures.
Just deselect the 'use one material' checkbox in the Text 3D and you can do different textures for both of them.

Ive been having problems with the UV coordinates so i gave Title Studio from Boris FX a try and i got it done in 10 minutes.

You'll get seams at the edges then. UV mapping should wrap.
But the best solution would be procedural 3D textures.

u mean create textures using background\noise ?
or davinci have specific node for creating procedural textures?
Or using plugins?

I'm using the plug-in mentioned above, it has procedural textures.
For anything more complex than some letters, I go for a 3D program, Cinema4D in my case.

Procedural shaders like the "lizard" in the templates still needs correct UV mapping.

The only hack i found so far is using two 3d texts with one beeing very small (the front) and a second for the rest. Then you can apply two materials and two uv-maps with different projection types.

I think i will play around with the mentioned 'use one material' checkbox and if that works in a.

p.s of course i dont expect fusion to unwrap complex models but i am still a bit surprised that it can not easily unrwap a simple text with a good uv-map

i use 3 text copies.
1 main text front\back
2 big outline
3 small outline

is there some node what can change one parametr simultaniously , for example change text in all 3 text node?

You can enter the text in one of the nodes, then right click on the other text nodes Styled Text boxes and choose "Expression". Then you pick whip from the plus sign next to the expression box to the Styled Text box where you entered the text for the other text nodes. When you change the text in the one, the other two will change the same.
