Ive been having a constant streak of Resolve hang ups/crashes when using the Mini Panel on V15 (both V15.0, and 15.2).

Resolve was relatively more stable on V14 than it was now when using the panel. The program seems to crash when pressing a button on the Panel, usually always a button from the bottom right hand side. I encountered this issue constantly when on Windows 10 back in late December, and am facing it now on Mac 10.12.6. On the windows it was about 4 times an hour, on Mac now, its about twice an hour.

Once the program crashes and I reboot, the Panel fails to reconnect. I have to turn it off and back on for it to register with resolve.

Hoping to get more insight on whats going on

Windows 10 config that always crashed when using Panel on 15:
GTX 1080TI
64GB RAM
Reading media from a raid 0 array via USB C
Decklink Mini
Mini Panel via USB C/3

Now on Mac:
10.12.6 Mac Pro 5,1
GTX980ti + Quadro K620 for GUI
32GB Ram
Reading media from SSD
Decklink Mini 4K
Mini Panel via USB C/3

I saw a few dropped connections over USB. Switched to network connection and thus far have seen no hangs (of the mini panel). Resolve has been rock-solid for me since 15.2.2 and a patch that allows me to handle projects with lots and lots of RED media.

Bumping for exposure. Hopefully the crash log has something to reveal.

I think I remember running into an issue with the mini panel when I had a few USB powered devices connected to the same USB bus that connected to the mini panel.

Try disconnecting your USB devices, other than the mini panel, and see if that fixes the issue.

Another crash. Very consistent when using the disable key on the mini panel to toggle a grade off and on. Saved the crash log.

Not sure whats going on here. Im working on 1080p Prores 4444 Alexa media with a system that can handle it with no issue. But once I start toggling nodes on and off using the Mini panel, the system will hang and then crash

I don't crash when spamming the disable node keyboard shortcut either.

Ive tried getting the panel to work via ethernet but have had no luck. I can't seem to find any documentation on the process of it online, either. I wasn't able to get it running with DHCP on, so I tried a manual IP address and configured it. The panel showed up in the preference menu as a selection, but once selected, no connection was made (connected via ethernet and powered normally, not with PoE).

Is the crash specifically happening when using a particular project? Can you send me your project as a pm?

Hey Rohit,

The crashing is coming from two different projects (currently on two jobs) on two different machines using the same panel (running 1.2). The windows computer was working on 4K cdng and my current Mac Pro project is working with 1080 prores material. Both projects have consistent crashing when hitting Disable key on the panel. I’ll PM ya both projects when I get home.

Did the crash logs happen to provide any useful information or leads?

Other issues on LGG are reporting numerous crashes when toggling nodes on and off as well.

Any insight from the crashlogs? Rohit, I sent you 3 other ones via PM.

Bumping again, been two weeks without any word and the crashing persists. It’s always when toggling nodes or working on the key output page.

Rohit, did the crash logs and DRPs I sent you over PM reveal anything?

Hi Nick, I'm having exactly the same issues, lets hope 15.3 fixes it.
