Premiere + Resolve BRAW workflow = Solved

PostMon Feb 18, 2019 3:51 pm

I have shot a project on Braw.

Since I want to edit in Premiere, I just rendered mp4 files from Resolve.

I will make the cut in Premiere using the mp4 files and then I need to go back to Resolve and re-link the original Braw files for color correction.

Is there any way to do that, like XML? Not sure that will be easy to re-link though.

I have not used this so I can't speak to how well it works but someone has developed a plugin for premiere to work with .braw files. https://autokroma.com/BRAW_Studio/index.html

Thanks, I know about this plugin, but it is very limited. I want to use all functions of Resolve, practically finishing the color and final render in Resolve.

I will try XML route as soon as I get to the editing room, and will share results.

I would recommend skipping Premiere Pro.

Do all the work in Resolve.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Alright just did a test, sending the Timeline from Premiere to Resolve was fine, using the XML.

Just need to replace each proxy individually, I guess there is not an option to batch replace all...

You can automatically reconform if your proxies have enough of the same metadata as the original. Timecode is a must. Timecode and reel name would be optimal.
