Davinci NOT resolved. A newer version already installed.

tried everything

I first installed davinci without postgres or w/e the program is, and had to reinstall with
it. Since then im getting the error , A newer version is already installed.

Uninstalled all blackmagic software in control panel,

Deleted folders permanently,

even did a regedit delete of everything black magic

Reinstalled and still getting the same prompt.

This is ridiculous, i've already had multiple problems with this program (besides the current one), before i've even opened it.

Nevertheless, Shotcut here I come. Will not recommend this software...

Resolve has very specific hardware and OS needs and so someone might be able to assist you if you provide more details.

Say what you want but your recommendation doesn't stand a chance. it's working for the vast majority.

i had a similar problem some time ago - solved it by deleting all references to resolve in the registry, and i mean all... installed and worked fine thereafter

If this is a Windows install, there are two reg entries,

Software\Blackmagic Design\Davinci Resolve\installed

-- and --


Software\Blackmagic Design\Davinci Resolve\version

Delete both of those and you should not get the error. Worked for me.

If you need to uninstall in the future use geek.exe rather than the Control Panel.
