Davinci 15.3 bug

PostTue Mar 26, 2019 2:06 am

While trying to overlay two video tracks of pictures, I discovered a bug:

1. Video track 1 (higher), place a sequence of pictures (not full-frame) and add a transition between (doesn't appear to matter the type)
2. Video track 2 (lower - used as background to fill the frame). Add a full-screen picture and match the length of picture sequence above.
3, Preview clip and initially picture in V2 appears in the background of V1 but as soon as the first transition ends the background picture (lower track disappears back to black). Comp on both tracks is normal.

After some experimentation, I discovered a workaround, you have to set each picture in V1 (top layer) to not have 100% opacity (99.9 will work) and suddenly V2 will appear as a background again. So, it looks like an issue with onion layering of tracks when you have a transition. I can easily replicate.

The more I use Resolve, the more worried I get with QC of the product?
