I'm curious. If I shoot a scene with my BMPCC4K, which camera choice from the drop down menu do I use in Fusion's 3D Camera Tracker?

Hello,

From the metadata of the clip, we can find the references of the camera.
In the camera tracker box list, we find '... Pocket cinema ...'. I will try with this Film Gate

To test :)

That's weird. I opened a BRAW project of mine and added the Cam Tracker. I looked for the P4K. I'll look again.

Nope. I still don't see the P4K in the Camera Tracker settings.

I thought I updated to beta 4. What is the exact version number of beta 4?

I'm showing "VERSION 16.0.0B.032". Is that the latest?

i can not see a preset it in Fusion 16 Beta or in Resolve 16 Beta myself. To bad since I am failing to do a sucessfull camera track and I want to single out the problems more effective. I concludet so far that the settings should be:
4K = 0,7464566929 in x 0,393701in or 18,96mm x 10mm (19:10)
UHD = 0,7in x 0,393701in or 17,78mm x 10mm (16:9 windowed mode)

Can anybody confirm that those numbers above are correct?

Feature Request:
Beside the implementation of a preset. It would be nice, if the user could switch between mm and inch.

Hello,

No, the latest is "VERSION 16.0.0B.033"

Try : menu Davinci Resolve => Check for Updates.

Ah, ok. I wasn't sure that was the correct one. There is another option right below it that has "4K" in the name but it doesn't say "Pocket" or "Cinema". But, if that's the correct dimensions of the film gate, then I will use that. Thanks.

I've downloaded beta 4 twice and uninstalled and installed beta 4 twice, and it still says "VERSION 16.0.0B.032"

I'm on a Mac. Does that matter?

I do not have MAC system: can a MAC User confirm if latest is B032 or 033? :)

I wish it would say "beta 4" so users can be sure. Maybe like, "VERSION 16.0.0B.032 (beta 4)".

The latest Mac version of Resolve (Beta 4) says B.032.

The latest Fusion Studio says Version: 16.0 beta 28 build 28.

Both have the following which may be the Pocket Cinema 4k, but I am not sure: Blackmagic Studio, Micro/Pocket Cinema 16:9. Is that the BMPCC4k?

OK, then I do have the latest beta. And yes, I definitely want to know the proper choice for the tracker.

It seems about right for 4k, according to this:
https://vfxcamdb.com/blackmagic-pocket- ... camera-4k/

For UHD, I just set Resolution Gate to fit the Height and let Fusion do the maths.

As you said, it would be nice to use metric system too.

If you know the filmback size for at least one resolution you can calculate photosite size and from that the filmback for any resolution for that particular sensor. But...

Unless you know the actual focal length, not the one written on the lens, you are always better off letting solver calculate the fov for you. Fov is the product of focal length and filmback size and by knowing fov you can use any combination you want/like/know if their ratio is the same. You can linearly scale focal length and filmback together, it will not change fov.

Thanks for that page. It makes it easier.
