Move Clips Up & Down custom key

PostThu Jul 11, 2019 1:54 pm

Hi! Can someone test something for me?

I've been using Resolve 16 since beta 4, where I tried to change the Move Clips Up/ Down from the default Alt + Up/Down arrow, but I cannot find it in the available commands.

When I select the Alt+arrows in the virtual resolve keyboard, it shows the commands bound to them on the left panel, but if I click the command it doesnt show up on the right panel. Likewise if I search for the keyword, it doesn't appear, nor can I find it by manually looking at the available commands.

I hoped to have this fixed in beta 6, but it still does the same....
Is it a bug, or simply something that is not customizable?

Bump, I really need an answer here...sending clips up and down is a big part of my workflow, if I can make it again easier again I would like that.

The Move Clips Up/Down command appears to be hardwired to the Alt/Option + Up/Down arrow keybindings.

If you reassign the Alt/Option + Up/Down arrow keybindings to another command, you are unable to assign custom keybindings to the Move Clips Up/Down commands.

As I wrote, I want to change the Move Clips Up/Down command, from the default Alt + Up/Down to something else. The command doesn't appear to be customizable in my beta. Is this normal or not?

I can confirm: Move Clips Up/Down command is not available in the Keyboard Customisation panel. It IS hard wired.

I've seen other keyboard shortcuts not show up in Search results. This should be something looked into.

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

To change any "hidden" shortcut, you need to:
1) Export your current keyboard shortcuts profile.
2) Edit with any text editor. Save
3) Import to Resolve as a new profile.

Boom, your keyboard shortcuts changed. Why can't you easily see and change hotkeys the way it fits your workflow? Dunno. But hopefully, it will be fixed in v17.

Happy editing!

Years later and this still seems to be the case.

Also mouse buttons don't seem to be supported either...
