How to monitor GPU temperature

PostFri Sep 14, 2012 7:23 pm

Hi guys

I was wondering how I can monitor the temperature
of the Nvidia GPU used by Resolve for processing

It gets really hot when running multiple nodes
Over time, when I put my hand in front of the
Card where the dvi connectors are the air
feels quite hot, so I would like to monitor its temperature

Maybe it's ok

I have the latest version of istat but it doesn't show it

For Windows I know there are several utilities that will put up temperatures, but I'm not sure if the same tools exist for Mac. Typically the cards won't let themselves be damaged by heat. They tend to slow down (step down).

iStat menus works for me for monitoring most system stats:

I'm not on ML but have you added the GPU temps from preferences in the sensors? You need to install the sensors package. Maybe it's not been updated for the 690 yet but works for my 580 and 550ti.

My memory is that when i turned on the option it asked me to download and install the module and did so from inside the app..?

Just checked on my hackintosh and the module is in:

~/Library/Application Support/iStat local/SensorsModule3.0.bundle

I would just copy into there and logout/restart like for the old versions:
