Where do you download the Raw speed test app?

Blackmagic have made it just about impossible to find this download. I gave up searching after 10min.

It's on the support page for Cameras, not the one for DR. If it's the speed test for Windows, that is bundled in the 1.5 package.

Very interesting

I had planned to change CPU next year: this test (8K) confirms it

Does anyone know what the criteria is the the speed test app uses to decide whether to throw up a red X or a green checkmark? I'm curious why the CPU is flagged as failing for the higher resolution footage and the GPU is not, as I thought it was usually the GPU that quits with 8K footage.

It's a playback test, not a grading test. BRAW can be decoded by either CPU or GPU, hence the two results. This doesn't mean you'll be able to do anything beyond play clips. As you can see, my system can theoretically play 8K BRAW media in real time, but doing that consumes either most of my CPU or GPU power, and if I tried to grade in 8K, my playback speed would not be satisfactory, and I would probably run out of VRAM very quickly.

OK, I think I've figured it out. The green number is the decode frame rate for that resolution and compression ratio, and the red-Xed are those shooting combinations in which the shooting frame rate exceeds the decode frame rate.

This is mine:

Weirdly enough, my 5:1 FPS performance is lower than expected from what would be logical judging from the incremental decline rate between 8:1 and 3:1...it takes a dip at 5:1 then goes back up...or perhaps 3:1 is unexpectedly high ;)
