Setting Min Amount of Anim Curve Modifier?

PostWed May 22, 2024 6:20 am

Hi,

I'm trying to create a template/effect that Zoom In and Zoom Out on a footage.
With the help of the Anim Curve > Curve Shape > Curve > Custom. It works.

My problem is setting the Min Amount. It currently goes from 0 to 1.
I want to modify it from 0.5 to 1. The current Scale parameter is only for Max amount.

Is there a way I can set the Min Amount?

See attached illustration for details.

P.S. I understand I can modify the curve to "hack" it from 0 to 1 into 0.5 to 1.
But I want to have a parameter value to expose it properly when being converted to a macro/template.

The scale doesn't set the max amount. It sets the maximum scale of the amount.
The amount is determined by your keyframes, the scale determines is how much of the curve is applied.
If you want to adjust the range of the slider you can do this by editing it in the Edit Controls right-click menu.

Hi Sander,

Thanks for the response.
But I'm not sure I nderstand "editing it in the Edit Controls right-click menu.".

I do not want to edit the VALUE range of the slider per se.
I want to edit the the ANIMATION range. For example, currently, its 0 - 1.
I want it to be 0.5 to 1. But I can't since the parameter is only single value (only 1). The Max value.

Is that more clear?

It is clear. If you right-click on the modifier, you will see the option 'edit controls' if you select this, you will see all parameters in the tool. If you search the scale one, you can then set the value range of that slider/screw in there.

Yes. This. Its also possible to do it with expressions, but I am not an expressions kind of guy so edit controls feature is a life saver for this kind of work.

Apologies for the late response.
I just want to confirm that what was presented works as expected.

Thank you @Sander de Regt and @KrunoSmithy
