Resize 1080p vfx to a 2k footage

PostMon Apr 24, 2017 1:15 am

Hi guys

Recently i was given a 2K footage to experiment if it was posible to scale the effects on the same footage but in a 1080p resolution

So far the only way to do this is by manualy scale the whole effects to the 2K size using a transform tool. It is not perfect since i have to refine most of the roto again, but so far it is the only think that worked

Has anyone of you worked on a situation like this?

Please let me know
And thank you very much

Change the pixel size using a scale or resize. Most, but not all, tools will respect that.

Also if it's the same footage, why not just scale the 2K down to 1080p?
Like Chad says: as long as you keep the aspect ratio of the footage the same (via f.e. a crop tool to add black bars around the image) your roto will still match, since Fusion is resolution independent.

Alright i will try it out
Thank you to both

Update:

I tried it but it didn't work perfectly but I think it's the footage i was given so i might assume that because everything else almost needs a minor tweaking of the effects.

Thank you for your help
