Pixel accurate movement?

PostTue Oct 16, 2018 7:57 pm

If I need to move something to a very specific pixel location... how do I figure that out?

Transform seems to work on %s... that's a huge math headache every time I need to move something...

On a 5760x1080 pixel space a 1920x1080 item is left justified at -0.5.

A 3555x1080 item is left justified somewhere around 0.1876517758204 ???

This makes my head want to explode... How do I figure this out?

I just want to move something 360 pixels to the right...
Should I be using something other than Transform?

There is a Reference Size parameter in the Transform node. Spin that down and enter your frame size for Width/Height. The Center control will update to show you absolute pixels instead of normalized coordinates.

edit: I think there's an entry in the Preferences somewhere to set those controls to always match your Frame Format settings if you prefer it to work that way all the time.

Thank you so much! That's exactly what I was missing. I'm surprised I didn't happen upon that since its right there in my face!

I think I was using Fusion for about three years before I realized it was there. :D
