Fusion 9 won't recognize video clip

PostTue Dec 11, 2018 10:13 pm

Hello everyone

I have created an effect on a still image. I want to do the same effect on a video clip so I clicked on the loader of the composition and changed out a .jpeg for a .mp4. This mp4 is 240 frames so 10 seconds. Fusion only reports 1 frame. The Timeline does the same. Even when I manually enter 240 frames, the clip won't play. It's as if Fusion still believes that the mp4 is a still image.

Is there a way around this so I don't have to redo my effect all over again? Is there a setting I need to go and click on? Thanks

Stupid question perhaps, but does the clip play by itself straight in the OS?
Also if you drag and drop your video file from an explorer window, does it create a 1 frame loader?

I mate

The clip doesn't play by itself. I just dropped another clip, this time a .mov and same issue. When I start a new composition, then everything is fine, it's as if Fusion thinks it is still a still image. Exited, rebooted the software and same thing.

Timeline shows only 1 frame as well.

Can you take a screenshot of your comp? Or copy/paste the content inbetween the *code* tags inside your reply? And if it does work in another composition, why not just copy paste all nodes except the loader from the non-functioning comp to the one that does load?

Been playing with it this morning and now managed to change the render end time and the global end time to 240. I also typed in 240 in Global Out. That seems to have fixed it but for my own information, when swapping clips in a loader, should it not automatically change to the new format of the clip?

the timeline in fusion can be as long/short as you want it to be its not tied to any loader.
you need to set the in/out manual
if you shift+drag the loader into the timeline then the in/out should be adjusted to the loader length
