Yea I know what blender is. That was the first thing that came to mind actually. But if I were to do this with a video instead of a cartoon would I just track the book or do a 3d camera tracker?
Ah, I see. If it would be a flat video on the book, I'd use the planar tracker. However, if it needs to pop up...then possibly the 3D camera tracker. I have to say though, personally I have very little success with the 3D camera tracker in Fusion. Having said that, I've seen others using it very effectively.
Yea for some reason the 3d tracker (for me) isnt the most intuitive tracker. The 3d camera tracker in adobe seems to be a bit more user friendly but that could just be the lack of knowledge on my part.
- track the book with Mocha, until a rock solid track is done - track anything else but the book too (2 planes at least) - camera solve (still in Mocha so far for me) > export the solve to Fusion - import it and tune the points cloud in Fusion - go on with placing the animation
Of course, this means the animation is done in 3d party app like blender and also imported when done in Fusion
