Making a transition in fusion

PostWed Dec 25, 2019 9:50 pm

Hello everyone, I'm new to the whole video editing game and could use some help. I'm trying to take two video clips and animate one to turn transparent and fade out and have the other clip fade in over a small amount of time. I can't seem to figure this out, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Its probably the wrong forum.
You would want to do this in Resolve.
Drop two clips on a timeline and drop in a cross dissolve in between.
The manual is nicely written and easy to understand, invest a bit of time in reading and watching some youtube tutorials.

....but if you just want to do this a getting starting exercise, here is the quick scoop:
Drop a Background node
Drag one clip in, it makes a Loader
drag from the output of the Loader to the output of the Background node
It makes a Merge node for you
Drop the second clip
drag output from second loader to output of Merge, it makes a second Merge for you
right click on Merge node "Blend" and Animate
change Blend mode as you please
open Spline editor to see how Blend value changes
open Keyframes window to adjust timing of clips
and of course read the manual to get all the details...
