Hello, again :)
First let me say that I find this forum very helpful and I have learnt alot from you all :)

I have some questions and I hope you can assist me yet again :)

I have started to record som football/soccer matches for my sons team. I want it to have some similarities
To the fifa 20 in terms of graphics just to make it more interesting to the players. Graphics for intro, who scores etc are made and looks ok :) I want know how you would solved the puzzle about the scorebug system that the broadcasters have in the top left corner. The one that is on through the whole game(see picture)...

Here are some questions:
1: Could I solve this with Fusion Composition that runs through the entire game?
2: if Yes, Will this have a bad effect on my dearly needed cpu?
3: What will you have done to make this scoresystem?

Looking forward to heading from you :)

Cheers

Gerry

I am assuming that you are not recording and broadcasting/streaming the soccer match in real time?

If you are just recording a game and editing it the next day and want to overlay some graphics on top, thats easy enough. Just make your graphics in Fusion. Since you already know the scores, you can create the overlay graphics and animations just like any other graphic. Should not be a problem for either your cpu or your gpu. Since soccer scores stay the same for a while (haha, again, I am assuming), you can just make a graphic in Fusion and save an image and overlay it on top of your footage in the Edit page as a 'static' image.

Somehow, I feel... you are looking for a more exotic solution?

Hi, Sadi
Thanks for your reply. Yes, the game is a recording and will Edit same day or next day. The scores in these youth matches can sometimes be 7-6 or even 10-9 8-) But that is rare. I think it is best to probably make
a standalone counter with a text+ in a fusion comp and make the FC go all the way through the match. The motion graphics are looking good so maybe cut out the graphics when motion graphics has gone through all the animations. How can I do that? And is there any way I can rename the fusion compositions on the timeline so I get a better overview of what the different fusion comps do? I’ve tried to search for answers without any luck. :)

Let's say I have game where the score ends 5-1...Is there anyway to make one Fusion Comp to change the value of the score with automation so I can edit only the FC to change the score? Or do I need to make a new tekst layer each time a team scores? I find tutorials on counters, but I can't understand to change the number value with f.ex spline tool to change the value f.ex 0-1, 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, 4-1 and to 5-1.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding this, but why not just treat it as text in the text+ tool? Just key frame animate the styled text field itself? For example, start with "0 - 0", enable animation for the text and then update the text/set a key frame whenever the score changes?

Then for a new game, you remove the key frames, and put the new ones in?

Hey, Okke
Thanks for your reply. I will try your solution as well, but after posting my last reply I went back to resolve and found another solution. I just make a text+, write numbers from 0-9 in a vertical scale, add a rectangle mask and then animate the text field to upwards when the score changes. In splinetool I can control the animation with greater presicion. What you think of that solution?

Hey Gerry - that should indeed work and the added benefit is that you then have a bit of animation (depending on how fast you move the mask).

Hey Gerry
I am not aware of a way to rename a Fusion Comp in the timeline on the edit page. They are referenced as 1, 2, ... in the clip menu on the Fusion page. However, I would suggest changes in the score of Team A could be one color and Team B score changes could be a different color. Right click on Fusion Comp in the Edit page to change clip color, say Red is always the opponents and Blue is always your son's team.

As for the scoring graphic, I dont think you really need to mess with Text+ counters or expressions or anything fancy. If I was making such a graphic, I would have two sets of comps, team A's score and team B's score. By separating them, you make things pretty easy to manage. Whatever your graphic is, just save it as a macro and you can go in and change the score whenever needed. (And there would be a third comp of fixed graphics, like a background box graphic. this one would just be the length of the whole edit.

Hope that helps!
