Display source timecode?

PostThu May 07, 2020 5:31 am

How to display source timecode of clips please? I've enabled Timecode in
Preferences -> Global/Default -> Defaults -> Timecode but it's still showing frames in the timeline after a restart.

I'm trying to match timings of two video clips.
Thanks.

I think there is an option for this on the Deliver tab. Look in the menus for Workspace > Data Burn In. What you choose there seems to appear even in the Edit tab.

Thank you David,
However I should have said I am using Fusion *standalone* which has no Deliver tab.

Anyone know how to display source timecode in Fusion standalone?

If you're saying 'source timecode' then I expect you to refer to clips. (because those are your sources)
Yet you also mention that the timeline is in frames.

Do you need both of them to show timecode?

Even after changing your default settings you still have to go to menu-->view--> show timecode to actually show your timecode on the timeline. It's just a checkmark and you should be good to go.

I am not sure if the loaders ever showed timecode, but the easiest way to do this is by adding a subview set to metadata. This will show you the actual source timecode of the clip.
It's a bit of a workaround, but once you've set it up it's pretty quick.

Thanks Sander! I'll investigate that.
My workaround in the end was to fine-tune the timings in Resolve's Edit, create a VFX Connect Clip there, export a .comp from Resolve's Fusion tab, then open it in Standalone Fusion.
