Moving Text in Fusion

PostMon Nov 16, 2020 8:15 pm

Hi team,

I simply want to have a line of text floating across the screen over the interviewee. Do I do this in Fusion ?

I realise this is basic but any basic instructions or link to a tutorial would be greatly appreciated.

I'm on abit of a deadline with a client

Many thanks,

Is this also in Resolve? And define 'floating across the screen'
There are quite a couple of presets inside of Resolve that will perhaps do something that you like or need.
Without more info from your part, it's hard to provide you with better assistance.

Sorry for the lack of info.

I've filmed an interview. The interviewee quotes some statistics so I want those in text, form gliding across the screen from left to right, but with out any fancy graphics added, Just very simple.

A lot of the presets in Resolve seem very fancy so I thought it was best to create something simple from scratch.

Goes that make sense ?

thanks

If you're new to Fusion it might be best to start simple, which - although it may sound counterintuitive - can involve *more* nodes instead of less.

In your case I would create a Text+ tool for every line (or group of lines) that you want to move as a whole. Text+ tool, select Font and size and color in the shading tab and align to your liking.

Then add a transform node and use that to animate the movement of your text.
Then feed that into a merge node that merges your titles on top of your footage or a blank background and use and animate the blend slider to fade the titles in and out. This way you have three seperate tools/controls per line, which makes it easy to remember where you are and what you are doing.

Does this help?
