How to rearange nodes quickly-bring to front-send to ba

PostSun Oct 10, 2021 6:26 am

Hi, I was wondering if there is a faster way to rearrange nodes in resolve-fusion .
When you look at my design you can see the word WORK over my background under the blue rectangle.
I would like to bring it over the blue rectangle.

I do that by disconnecting nodes.
Then selecting nodes that I wanna move
move the nodes
reconnect the nodes

Is there a faster way of doing this?

Thank you for your help.

Option 1:

1. Select "WORK" and "Merge10" (quickly drag a box around them with left mouse button held down)
2. Hold down Shift, then drag Merge10 - both WORK and Merge10 will be pulled out of their current position, because shift is held down
3. Still with shift held down, click and drag the nodes over to after Merge12
4. Still with shift and left mouse held down, position Merge10 on the pipe between Merge12 and MediaOut. Shift-dragging a node onto a pipe will cause the node to be connected in that position on that pipe (look for the pipe changing colour to indicate it's locking onto that pipe). Release shift and left mouse button.

That will reconnect WORK + Merge5 in the new position.

Option 2:

1. Select "WORK" and "Merge10" (quickly drag a box around them with left mouse button held down)
2. Press Control/Cmd-X to cut the nodes
3. Click near Merge12 then press Control/Cmd-V to paste
4. WORK and Merge10 will be pasted there, still connected together but not connected to the main flow.
5. Now select WORK and Merge10 together, and shift-drag them into the pipe to connect them.

In this example Option 1 works best, but be aware of cutting and pasting nodes as another option for moving them from one place to another.

Thanks again TOM ,
I should have changed the names of the merge notes, but great explanation.

I think you should really start a youtube channel.

Every time some asks a question on the forum that you can answer, you basically have a new video for your channel. This way you can just narrate it plus you can make some extra $ from Youtube.
I am a complete beginner and not the brightest guy but your explanations are so good even I can understand them .
