MP4 as a loader node

PostMon Feb 05, 2024 3:06 pm

Hi All,

Do you have any idea why I can use an MP4 in a loader node on my home machine but not my work machine? I tried a few obvious things like trying to make sure the codecs were the same on both machines, mmpeg was installed on both machines, etc.

Thanks.

I'm assuming you're using a Windows machine?
The most likely issue here is that the 2 machines have different versions of ffmpeg installed.
Fusion doesn't yet support version 6, so if you're going to install it manually use the highest version of 5.
It can be a real pain to install manually, so the easiest option is to install it using Reactor.

Go to http://www.steakunderwater.com and you'll find a world of Fusion help and info.

Go to the Reactor section, scroll down a little and you'll see a link to "Download the Reactor Installer".
That will be a lua file.
Drag that file onto to nodes area in Fusion and it will auto-install.
This will take a little while.
Once finished, open Reactor from the Top Menu and in the search bar at the top search for 'FFmpeg'.
You'll see a checkbox next to FFmpeg, just check that and it will install.
Restart Fusion / Resolve and hopefully you should be all good!

It appears that the Loader in Resolve Studio does not support mp4 files or other video formats, even when downloading ffmpeg in Reactor.
