Great job BMD. As a Mac user making the migration to PC, I am very pleased. Was still using Shake.

How much did Fusion go for before BM bought it?

People overlook how incredibly good it is for really controlling the specific parameters that you want to, and really, it has been 4K since the beginning. Some of its nodes (the ones that Apple cannibalized for its "behaviour" modes in point-and-click applications) are still the best in the business.

I recall the "cheap" version being around $2500 which among other things was limited to 8-bit color, and the full version was something like $5000 per seat. It was quite a while ago though, so I'm probably at least somewhat off.

It's just like with Resolve... it's not a "full" version, but it's far more than most freebies would offer. The "full" version is $1000... which is a bargain for what it offers.

last version was $2400 (combined with Dimension) as I remember.. and $800 was Generation.

As a hard-core fusion user since version 1.0 (yes, I'm that old) I'm really excited by this news. Most of the studios I've worked at the last few years have pretty much committed to Nuke and I was very close to switching for my own personal projects once their free, non-commercial version comes out next year. Now I will be sticking around in familiar territory for a little while longer

Either way, the BMD pricing scheme makes it a serious bargain.
