Should Text+ work with tools like Blur

PostThu Nov 13, 2014 3:11 am

Just starting out with Fusion (complete newb).

I have created a Text+ node, added a tool node (Blur or CC), but it appears to have no effect on the output.

Either I am doing something wrong, or I do not understand how these things work/interact.

Haven't found any info in the manuals or any tutorials that I have found.

Can anybody offer any wisdom?

Cheers,

It's not clear exactly what you are doing, so it's hard to give you a crisp answer.

How are you examining the output? If you are using the A/B viewports, make sure the blur or CC node is actually being assigned to a viewport. If you've assigned the Text+ node output to a viewport, adding additional nodes to the downstream flow is not going to change what you see in the viewport.

Also, do you have a background plate that you are merging the Text+ into? If not, blur might have some matte-related issues (because there's nothing outside the text to blur into). However, I would expect CC to still work even for background-less text.

Answered my own question - didn't realise that i needed to put the Blur node in the viewer to see the results.
