Recommended method of transferring video from Resovle

PostWed Nov 19, 2014 4:48 pm

Is there a preferred way to export videos from Resolve without losing any quality so that they can be imported into Fusion (at original quality) for a final export to whatever compressed format?

I assume you could always do uncompressed AVI but that would be very inefficient, I think. Im very inexperienced with this type of thing, moving videos around to different programs. Im not aware of what is available to make it happen.

compositing softwares like fusion like image sequences the most, so export to linear EXR or log DPX. try to get a understanding of linear workflow in compositing (and the special points in fusion)

but for a quick start a image sequence of TIFF will do it

to load a frame from a movie container (like avi or mov) you have to open the whole file and find that specific frame. which can slow down your workflow, especialy with compressed formats and long GOPs.

And this is possible from H.264 source files? Standard option in Resolve? Thanks for the info!
