Equivalent to Nuke's Spherical Transform

PostWed Feb 04, 2015 5:30 pm

I need to wrap polar images into a dome to produce 360 image spherical projections but I need something in Fusion equivalent to Nuke's "Spherical Transform", is anything like it in Fusion?

Thanks!

Fusion has a Shader Called Spherical Transform that will allow you to map it to Spherical Geometry.
Belive that's what you are looking for..

Need to get Thinkbox to re-issue Awake.

But yes, I'd love to see parts of Awake. But I would not expect that to happen.

Hate to say it but other than the filtering, this is pretty easy to do with CT. If you oversample, that can take care of much of the filtering at the cost of speed.

Filtering gets easier with Fuses, and making UI is easier with Fuses too, plus you get OpenCL and LuaJIT.

I know, I know, you can't expect users to do this, especially with no documentation at all, but it's there.

When BMD makes a VR camera, then I'd expect more VR content tools built into Fusion.

I hate to always be such a whining jerk when it comes to this, but, seeing BMD can't even be bothered or find the time to fix the 55 scripts that ship with Fusion (often fixes that are as simple as running a search and replace in a a basic text editor), i'd say not to get your hopes up on seeing major features added to tools.

Hope to be wrong though and see a major update soon with some nice features added (and hopefully some long due script/sdk updates)
