Generation setup

PostThu Feb 19, 2015 8:13 am

Yesterday my dongle has arrived, so now I take my hands on Generation. The one and only question I have is: where and what do I need edit to setup Fusion comps correctly? For example, I want default saver in fresh comp to be dpx, not tif. Turn on HiQ button, arrange nodes, auto-arrange, and name for saver as it was in loader (even with padding).
For now the only thing I can edit is Generation.cfg, but it lacks all the requirements I have. Help file looks for me like unfinished doc, there is nothing about scripting and user-bar programming or setup.

Looks like I found a bug in Gen: when saver in Fu comp set to network path (\\machinename\foldername\compname.comp), Gen will show an error and in Metadata saver path becomes red and with only one "\" in front of path: \machinename\foldername\compname.com

Hi
For the network path problem. I had that too and,
you can work around that with the Path maps Preferences.

so you set up a pth map from \machinename\ to \\machinename\

Thanks, Markus, it's a good idea. There is also another workaround: map network drive with "hard" letter: Z:\ for example.
