lower thirds templates?

PostSat Feb 21, 2015 4:44 pm

does anyone know of a source to buy lower thirds templates, much like the reams of AE templates for sale on revostock/shutterstock etc etc?

this is something i rarely (once or twice in the last five years) need, and don't want to waste my time building them if i can buy a template for a few $

Hi;
Are you aware of the existing templates? - go to file bins ( control B)
Kind Regards

Apologies for reviving an older thread, but are those templates usable in the free version of Fusion?

I can find them but when I try to click on them or use them, I see no icon to show how they should look, instead I see what looks like an image of a wrench instead.

No one replied to this. I just opened Fusion 9.0.1 abd went to bins. The lower-thirds placeholders are there but as far as I can tell there is no actual template. In other categories, some things have content and some just have placeholders.

It's not apparent if the items with placeholders are only available in the Studio version or if they just no longer exist.

Can someone in the know shed some light on this please?

The lower thirds bin folder is populated here and I only have the (free) Fusion version.

Marcus, do you have a previous (free) version of Fusion installed?

I have just reinstalled (after uninstalling) the latest free version of Fusion.
Version 9.01 build 3 and still do not not have the templates for lower thirds.

I am seeing no templates at all under LIBRARY ON LOCALHOST

Only under TEMPLATES ON LOCALHOST and lower thirds is not there.

Maybe only the Windows version?

Any ideas out there?

I'm on Windows and have just the placeholders.
I suspect they were in an earlier version and not brought forward for some reason. Are older versions still available or.can someone that has them dump them into a Dropbox to share with the community. That would be great.

I downloaded Fusion 7.5 and the templates are there in FILE>BINS...

However Fusion 9.0.1 does not see them. I tried copying the Templates folder from 7.5 to several places within 9.0.1 but no luck.

Does someone from Blackmagic monitor this forum or does one need to contact support to see if they know what is going on?

Thanks.

Yes, I have 7 and 8 installed.

Mine seem to live in

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\Fusion\Macros\LowerThirds

where the UserPaths:Macros path map points to.

@Marcus, thanks for trying to help. Unfortunately no matter where I moved the files, they were not found by Fusion 9. But you did give me an idea which worked.

What I believe happens is that the program runs a script to bring the bin content forward from previous versions when it installs.

So, I uninstalled all versions of Fusion. Then I installed in order; Fusion v.7.5 then v.8 then v.9 with the result being that Fusion 9 now sees all of the template contents.

Whew... :)

I then uninstalled v.7.5 and v.8 and the files remain accessible. The older versions can be obtained here:
