Cinema 4D Import Objects, Lights, and Cameras

PostSat Aug 29, 2015 9:01 pm

Hey guys,

Just downloaded the Free version for Mac and would love to start playing around with it to get a feeling. I'm used to After Effects, and using Element 3D for 3D objects in AE. So, How do I work with Cinema 4D files to bring them into Fusion? Can't seem to find any good tutorials or step guides on the Training section or on YouTube/Vimeo. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

you cant import C4D files directly, but you can import alembic, FBX, Obj, Dae and many more formats.

you can use the file->import->fbx scene menu to bring in the objects, in this case every object in the scene becomes its own node and you have total control over everything.

you can also use the tools->3d->FBX Mesh node to load the objects, in this case you have one node for the whole scene.

dont let the FBX in the name mislead you, this is the option where you can bring in all 3d assets

then take a look at the tutorials about using the 3d space and renderer
